Some of the things I like to do (other than think about suffering) include climbing trees, visiting large and/or pretty bodies of water, playing music (including formerly as a member of Mariachi de Brown and various ensembles (e.g. this one) at Northern Illinois University), and doodling (click the hashtags below to see some; you can also click the thumbnails for a closer look).
I also enjoy learning languages, which inspired me to study abroad in Angers, France and then work as an Au Pair in Germany for a while. My interest in languages also extends to regional dialects, coding languages, and even the different ways of using language in religious contexts. I've spent a fair bit of time learning the Soto Zen religious vocabulary (e.g. here) and the Catholic religious vocabulary (e.g. here), in particular. (Both 'here's are near where I grew up, in central coastal California).
Unrelatedly, I get a lot of use out of this (very) simple alarm clock I made, for 'pomodoro'-style work-intervals.
