I am a Professor of the Practice in the philosophy department at Tulane University, primarily in support of the Cognitive Studies program.

My research — mostly in ethics, metaethics, & moral psychology, and philosophy of mind, cognitive & affective neuroscience — tends to center on issues related to negative emotion, and suffering in particular.
